There has been a great deal of criticism when it comes to Lady Gaga’s new song, “Born This Way.”

The most recent of this criticism comes from singer Charo. According to E! News (http://www.eonline.com , Charo says Gaga is “Madonna with Diarrhea”.

Many have compared Gaga’s “Born This Way” to Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” I had to see for myself, and familiarize myself with both to make a decision.

My opinion? I can definitely see the similarity between the two. They are similar in melody and in message. But I don’t think they are the same and I can’t say that Lady Gaga copied it. Personally, I applaud Lady Gaga for writing a song with such a positive message: Be yourself, because you’re fine the way you are.

No, she wasn’t the first to write a song of this type, and she won’t be the last. It’s up to every individual person to make the call.

The music video for “Born This Way” premieres tomorrow.

So, what do you think? Do you think “Born This Way” is a copy of “Express Yourself” ? What do you think of Charo’s diss? Leave me a comment below and share your thoughts.

  1. before it was gaga & christina now its madonna, the issue of copying is always there i guess. both songs are good, isn’t that enough? 🙂

  2. Eh, I think people are confusing copying with them just being in the same niche.

Lady Gaga’s a lot like Madonna because both started as catchy and odd pop sensations that use heaping helpings of image and shock value for self-promotion. Then, both moved on to a expressing more of a “message” in their work.

    There’s one every generation.
